WHAT?
Initiative to legalize the exchange on digital networks, for personal and non-profit use, of materials’ files protected by author’s rights.
WHO?
It is a European Citizen Initiative called “Freedom to Share”, made up of various organizations. Any European citizen can participate.
HOW?
By signing the European Citizens’ Initiative on the organization’s website, it is also necessary to disseminate the initiative, to contribute to the organization of the campaign from the subscription in a form, to help with translations or cash donations.
WHERE?
It is a campaign with a European international scope. The website https://freesharing.eu/ indicates how you can participate.
WHEN?
The campaign does not have a stipulated end, and it began on May 15, 2020.
HOW MUCH?
As far as we want to get involved in the campaign (in its different areas) or as much as we can donate. There is no specified quantity.
WHY?
To increase the sharing, and therefore the dissemination, of creative works (or other content) and of culture; to have the freedom to access creative works without any subject to control mechanisms, with a view to achieving a balance between the rights of authors and other rights holders and the universal right to science and culture.
